Kaskade, Bassnectar, Carnage to play Moonrise Festival At “Club Pimlico”
Local EDM lovers rejoice. The Moonrise Festival has released “Phase 1″ of its lineup, announcing over 50 acts set to perform, with “Phase 2″ coming soon. Last year, Moonrise was set to take place at Sun Park but was cancelled last minute due to permit issues. This year, the festival will be held at Pimlico Race Course (what we here at City Paper have taken to calling “Club Pimlico” due to a recent surge of EDM acts popping up over there) on Saturday, August 9 and Sunday, August 10 from 11 a.m.-11 p.m.
The two-day festival will accommodate up to 30,000 guests with three main stages and a fourth smaller stage. Headliners include Kaskade and Bassnectar, as well as Carnage, the D.C. DJ on the rise who has returned home twice in the last six months to sold out shows at 9:30 Club and Echostage. Other notable acts include Adventure Club, Audien, Bro Safari, DJ Snake, Excision, GTA, Infected Mushroom, Lotus, Tommy Trash, Zeds Dead, and to break up the fistpumping monotony, even a couple of hip-hop acts (A$AP Ferg and Waka Flocka Flame).
General admission “early bird” tickets are now on sale for $125 as well as general admission advance tickets for $149.50. VIP Early Bird tickets are currently $199 and VIP advance tickets are $249.50. The VIP package includes access to exclusive viewing areas, express entry, enclosed/air-conditioned bathrooms, a Moonrise Festival T-shirt and a full color commemorative laminate.
