Jack White, Skrillex, Nas to Headline FreeFest
At long last, the line-up for the Virgin Mobile FreeFest, scheduled for October 6 at Merriweather Post Pavilion, has been announced: Jack White, Skrillex, M83, Nas, ZZ Top, Santigold, Alabama Shakes, Ben Folds Five, The Dismemberment Plan, Allen Stone, Trampled by Turtles, Portugal. The Man, Das Racist, Future Islands and Justin Jones will play the two main stages, while the “Dance Forest” will feature Above & Beyond, Porter & Zedd (Back to Back), Thomas Gold, Nervo, Alvin Risk and Penguin Prison.
It’s a pretty solid line-up that hits a lot of diverse audiences, as these things try to do, and it’s nice to see Bmore repped by Future Islands (pictured), and DC by Dismemberment Plan, who apparently played a bunch of new songs at their Metro Gallery show on Friday.
