CJ Hilton Gets a Co-Sign from Nas
The feature isn’t a total shock, since one of the producers who’s been helping shape Hilton’s sound and oversaw last year’s The Package Mixtape is Salaam Remi, who produced a number of Nas’s later hits like “Made You Look” and “I Can.” But it’s still a good look that will get a number of the rapper’s fans checking out the track, especially since Nas has maintained a relatively low profile in the last year or two. While Hilton’s velvety voice interpolates the Four Tops’ “Ain’t No Woman (Like The One I’ve Got)” and Marvin Gaye’s “Sexual Healing,” Remi keeps the drums banging hard, while Nasty Nas manages to spin a yarn about new love so soon after his tumultuous split with ex-wife Kelis: “The wildest part of all is how we became friends/ I was walkin’ out divorce court, she was strollin’ in.”
