Zodiac Closing at the End of May

May 4, 2010
By

The Station North Wham City performance space, formerly the Club Charles’ dining adjunct, is closing at the end of this month, curator/booker Adam Endres confirms via e-mail. Featuring bands ranging from Beach House to Wavves and events ranging from game nights to lectures to comedy, the small room was a comfortable home for the collective, notwithstanding problems such as Zodiac’s small floorspace (a capacity of approximately 150 people) and the venue being 21-and-older only. No word yet on whether Wham City has another venue in mind, or why Zodiac is shutting down, but as Endres told City Paper in August 2008 about Zodiac’s intimate size, “We’re keeping our eyes open.”

OMG, this is truly awful. This was the only place to be, in the whole city, for Halloween. This place is sorely going to be missed by all the misfit artists out there. Hope you guys have a new place by Oct.31st. Here’s a beer to old good times.
