Weekend MARC service begins Saturday! Here’s where to go!
At long last, the MARC commuter train will begin service this Saturday with a 7:35 a.m. departure from Penn Station to D.C.’s Union Station. The cost is $7 for a one-way ticket. We’ve been looking forward to this day since the MTA announced the new service back in May. This addition has been promised since at least 2008.
You can see the whole schedule here, with nine round trips on Saturday and six on Sunday. The last train back to Baltimore runs at 10 :15 p.m. on Saturday and 7 p.m. on Sunday, which is still too early for nights out in D.C., but hey, baby steps.
In the spirit burying the hatchet between Baltimore and D.C. (see our “Nine reasons the Baltimore vs. D.C. debate needs to die“), we have a gallery of cool things you can do this weekend if you hop on one of those first weekend MARC cars…
