Judge’s Son Gets Five Years in Federal Prison

April 15, 2009
By

City Paper has covered the Baltimore drugs-and-guns case against Philip Robinson Winkfield, the son of Washington, D.C., federal magistrate judge Deborah A. Robinson, every step of the way: his arrest, his indictment, his state trial scheduling, and when his case was bumped up to federal court. Former CP staff writer Jeffrey Anderson did most of that coverage, and now he’s written the final chapter on Winkfield’s case-a five-year sentence on a guilty plea for dealing heroin-for Tickle the Wire, the web site covering federal law enforcement overseen by ex-Washington Post-ie Allan Lengel.
