Harbor East Elevation Burger Closes

December 28, 2009
By

Elevation Burger (1006 Aliceanna St.), the all-organic, grass-fed, ethically-minded burger chain has closed its store in Harbor East, The Baltimore Sun‘s food blog Dining@Large reported Wednesday. Sun restaurant critic Elizabeth Large wrote that the location will re-open Feb. 15 as an as yet unnamed deli and pizza joint.

A call to Elevation’s corporate headquarters in Arlington, Va. yielded the following statement via e-mail from Elevation partner Michael Berger:

Despite the Harbor East Baltimore, MD Elevation Burger being a profitable location, the franchisee decided to close the business for personal reasons. We agreed with him that closing was the best option for all parties involved.

The closure leaves the National Harbor location the only remaining Elevation Burger in Maryland, with a Montgomery County location scheduled to open in 2010. The Harbor East spot was supposed to be one of three locations in Charm City. No word if other Elevation Burger shops will open in Baltimore in 2010.
