The Maryland Science Center brings together science, food, and booze in the latest entry of its “adult beverage series,” The Science of Chocolate: Cocoa-ology, Thursday, Feb. 23. Larry McGlinchey, chocolatier and owner of Cacao Lorenzo, will lead an interactive presentation exploring the origins of chocolate and chocolate production and providing insight into the elements to consider when linking chocolate and wine or liqueur. Participants (21 and over only, please) will sample a variety of different chocolate styles including truffles and bon bons, match chocolate with wines and liqueurs, and learn scientific and fun chocolate facts.
Tickets are $45 per person ($40 for Maryland Science Center members) and include the chocolates and paired beverages. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. Call (410) 545-5980 to reserve seats.
