Bryan Voltaggio To Open Baltimore’s Aggio June 28
Bryan Voltaggio—Top Chef runner-up, James Beard Finalist, and overall Maryland chef heavy hitter—is finally set unveil his first foray into Baltimore when he opens the doors of Aggio on Saturday, June 28. Similar to his DC restaurant of the same name, the Italian-focused restaurant will be located in the former space of Tatu near Power Plant Live (614 Water St.).
Last month we snagged a table for Voltaggio’s pop-up at Artifact to see what we could expect at his new place and came away more than impressed. After digging dishes like the prawns over buckwheat polenta with a fra diavolo foam that about had us licking the bowl and chioggia beets that were presented so artistically you almost didn’t want to touch them (good thing we did, they tasted just as good) we have high hopes for Aggio, a restaurant that could bring some serious competition to the already thriving food scene of the city—the more the better.
