Single Carrot Theatre Stages Its Annual Murder Ink Reading
Murders may have been down in 2010, but a final toll of 223 homicides for the year is still an unconscionable statistic. Station North’s Single Carrot Theatre does its part to raise awareness about/commemorate each of Baltimore’s murder victims with its annual reading of City Paper’s Murder Ink column on Wednesday, Jan. 5. Beginning at 7 p.m., the Single Carrot folks will stand outside the theater’s space at 120 W. North Ave. and recite the details of every murder in Baltimore during 2010, as reported for this publication by Anna Ditkoff, with additional reporting from Andrea Appleton. The event is free, and community members are welcome not only to come by to listen and discuss, but also to join in the reading. Hot beverages will be provided.
