Three galleries located inside the H&H Building open exhibitions tonight. Protocol: \ Syntax \ Semantics at Gallery Four features Shaun Flynn, Brian Randolph, Hadieh Shafie, and Dan Steinhilber. (Note: One of Flynn’s installations is offsite and can only be seen at night, installed along the southbound route of Falls Road as you pass underneath I-83 by the G-Spot.) Where The Sun Don’t Shine at Nudashank Gallery (co-operated by City Paper contributor Alex Ebstein) is an entirely black-and-white show featuring Annie Farrar, Bart O’Reilly, Brendan Sullivan, J.M. Giordano, Jimmy Joe Roche, Henry Winfiele, Nick Van Woert, and Waltr Carpenter. And RADIX at the Whole features Jennifer Becker, Michael Benevento, Brent Crothers, Gina Denton, Jennie Fleming, Ellen Ann Gallup, Dawn Gavin, Doug Hansen, Ben Piwowar, and Renee Rendine.
Tuesday, July 14
7 p.m.: Faythe Levine screens her indiecraft documentary Handmade Nation at the UB performing arts building, 21 W Mt Royal Ave, with a Q&A session.
Finally, don’t miss out on the Mount Royal Tavern’s annual Foodscape exhibition, which opens July 12 with a 5:30 p.m. reception and features the multi-media food works of Matt Bovine, Jim Burger, Richard Deurer, Michael Hamilton, Terrance Haney, Sydney Hopkins, J.
