Chocolate 101

The Mary­land Sci­ence Cen­ter brings together sci­ence, food, and booze in the lat­est entry of its “adult bev­er­age series,” The Sci­ence of Choco­late: Cocoa-ology, Thurs­day, Feb. 23. Larry McGlinchey, choco­latier and owner of Cacao Lorenzo, will lead an inter­ac­tive pre­sen­ta­tion explor­ing the ori­gins of choco­late and choco­late pro­duc­tion and pro­vid­ing insight into the ele­ments to con­sider when link­ing choco­late and wine or liqueur. Par­tic­i­pants (21 and over only, please) will sam­ple a vari­ety of dif­fer­ent choco­late styles includ­ing truf­fles and bon bons, match choco­late with wines and liqueurs, and learn sci­en­tific and fun choco­late facts.

Tick­ets are $45 per per­son ($40 for Mary­land Sci­ence Cen­ter mem­bers) and include the choco­lates and paired bev­er­ages. Doors open at 7:00 p.m.  Call (410) 545‑5980 to reserve seats.
