Normal’s Hosts “Say It With Writing” Event, Oct. 7

October 5, 2011
By

This Friday, Normal’s hosts an evening of literary readings entitled “Say It With Writing,” featuring four poets.

Megan Martin, whose first book of prose poems, Sparrows and Other Eulogies, was published in April, will read, as will Kristi Maxwell, author of several poetry collections, including Realm Sixty-Four, which takes the game of chess as its inspiration.

D.C. writer Mike Scalise, program coordinator at the PEN/Faulkner Foundation and embarker upon numerous writing endeavors, both literary and journalistic, will read from his work. And Baltimore resident Laura van den Berg will read from her much-lauded debut short-story collection, What the World Will Look Like When All the Water Leaves Us.

The event is free, and starts at 7 p.m.
