Meet Gino at Gino’s
When Baltimore’s first new Gino’s franchise in 30 years opened in Towson in August, it seemed like everybody who ever went to Gino’s was going to this Gino’s to relive a Baltimore memory. Everybody except the former Colt, Gino’s founder, and namesake, Gino Marchetti. Gino, as he likes to be called, is now 85, and some health problems prevented him from attending the Towson opening. But on Sunday, Oct. 9, Gino will return to Baltimore for Gino’s Fan Appreciation Day. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., the Hall of Famer will sign autographs and memorabilia, and share stories about football and hamburger franchises at the Towson Gino’s (8600 LaSalle Road, [410] 583-0000). Gino, who still puts in three days a week at the King of Prussia Gino’s near his Pennsylvania home and devotes two days a week to his latest sports passion, bowling, is sharp, engaging, and a real charmer. Buy a Giant and talk with a legend.
