Dundalk native,  MICA grad, and fashion designer Kandice Levero lives in Tokyo, but she came back to Baltimore this summer to do a fashion shoot at the Senator Theatre, highlighting a clothing collection inspired by the theater.

Le Vero, Levero’s brand, “draws inspiration from Brooklyn, NY, Baltimore, MD, and lots from Tokyo,” or so says her Kickstarter site.

Photos by local photographer Michelle Aristocrat can be found here, and footage from the shoot starts around the 3-minute mark in the video below:

The clothing line based on the “Senetor Theater” (note misspelling) seems oddly appropriate to the aesthetic of the new operators chosen by the city. Trash on the floor, greasy looking models, and a clothing line that has nothing to do with the deco design of the theater, yet is named after it. Very symbolic of the “New Senetor.”

“Quillpen” should call herself (or himself) “Poisonpen,” for taking cheap shots at a sweet young woman who is working so hard to be creative and add a little beauty to a world that needs beauty and happiness!  First of all, Kandice Levero’s collection is of fashion accessories, NOT a “clothing line.”  The “trash on the floor” was origami flowers, the motif for many of the items in the collection.  And “greasy-looking models” – for shame, for shame!  Poisonpen, I bet you were the playground bully at your school.  I say, I hope that Kandice’s lovely new collection is a great success.
