Crash Course
“Honest Services” Not Required of CEOs, Pols
The Supreme Court has ruled that the “honest services” statute—at least so far as it applied to Enron boss Jeffrey Skilling’s actions, is invalid. It appears that the law still applies to bribery though (of course bribery is already “illegal,” sort of). Anyway, read the decision here.
(HT Cara Ellison, Skilling’s biggest fan.)
For why this decision was both brilliant and inevitable, review my previous post on the matter. It’s a new paradigm, people. Get hustlin’.
