Sensory Friendly Films Jan. 3: Marley & Me

The Autism Society of America and AMC Entertainment have partnered to provide a safe movie-watching environment for families touched by autism and other disabilities. At 10 a.m. Jan. 3 at participating AMC theaters in the area–While Marsh, Columbia Mall, Tysons Corner, Potomac Mills, and Gaithersburg Rio locations–the theaters are dimming the lights and lowering the sound, allowing noise and movement (even dancing), and cutting out the previews and ads, allowing families with members sensitive to light, sound, and sitting still to enjoy an afternoon show. Plus, all are welcome to bring snacks that follow dietary restrictions. Tickets are $6 and can be purchased at the theaters (full list of theaters). The next movie in the family-friendly program is the Jennifer Anniston and Owen Wilson dog adventure, Marley & Me.
